Meet the Team

Jodie Neville is responsible for leading the implementation of D6 across Watergrove Trust and supporting schools and trusts as they successfully introduce the model in their own contexts.

Having begun her career as a primary teacher, Jodie spent more than a decade working across Watergrove schools before progressing into senior leadership and completing her NPQH. She later joined the Trust's central Teaching and Learning Team, where she specialised in instructional coaching, curriculum development and the mentoring of Early Career Teachers.

Jodie played a pivotal role in adapting the original secondary D6 model into a primary framework, leading its successful implementation across all Watergrove primary schools. Her work has demonstrated that the core principles of D6—learner agency, peer coaching and belonging—can be successfully translated across different phases while remaining faithful to the original design.

Alongside her work with D6, Jodie is an Improvement Lead within the Department for Education's RISE programme, supporting schools across Greater Manchester to strengthen teaching, leadership and outcomes.

Jodie is passionate about ensuring that every school implementing D6 does so successfully. She works closely with school leaders to adapt the model thoughtfully to local contexts whilst protecting the core design principles that make it effective. As she often says, successful implementation is about thoughtful adaptation—not accidental "lethal mutations".

She is driven by a deep commitment to social mobility, believing that every child deserves access to the opportunities, confidence and support they need to thrive.
